Jesup J-Hawks (Jesup, IA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Oelwein Huskies (Oelwein, IA), 61-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Jesup upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The J-Hawks travel to Wapsie Valley (Fairbank, IA) to play the Warriors in a North Iowa Cedar - East bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 2-13. Wapsie Valley won 84-42 in their recent non-league bout against Tripoli (Tripoli, IA)

Next up, the Huskies play the Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars (Sumner, IA) in a North Iowa Cedar - East bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Oelwein will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 6-11 record after their 65-64 non-league loss to Independence (Independence, IA).
