Oxford Chargers (Oxford, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Lewisburg Patriots (Olive Branch, MS), 72-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, Oxford upgrades its record to 14-10 on the campaign. The Chargers host Hernando (Hernando, MS) to play the Tigers in a 7A Region 1 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 7-14.

Next up, the Patriots play the Horn Lake Eagles (Horn Lake, MS) in a 7A Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Lewisburg will attempt to upgrade on its 14-6 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 14-10 record after their 79-75 league loss to Southaven (Southaven, MS).
