The Shelby Whippets basketball team scored 73 points and held the host Mansfield Senior Tygers to 55 in the Whippets non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Whippets now sport a 13-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host River Valley for a Mid-Ohio - Red contest on Thursday, February 1. Shelby will battle a Vikings team coming off a 75-65 league win over Marion Harding (Marion, OH). The Vikings record now stands at 13-3.
The Tygers (12-4) will now prepare for their contest against Lima Senior (Lima, OH). The Spartans enter the non-league contest with a 8-6 record. In their last contest, Lima Senior ran past Rogers (Toledo, OH), 74-53, in a league contest.
