Georgia High School Basketball - Tift County nudges Sumter County

January 27, 2024: Americus, GA 31709

Tift County Blue Devils (Tifton, GA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA), 44-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Tift County upgrades its record to 10-10 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Veterans (Kathleen, GA) to clash with the Warhawks in a AAAAAA Region 1 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Warhawks go into the bout with a record of 13-7. Veterans won 92-68 in their recent non-league bout against Perry (Perry, GA)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Berrien Rebels (Nashville, GA) in a AA Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Sumter County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-14 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 1-19 record after their 59-32 league loss to Cook (Adel, GA).
