AHSTW Vikings (Avoca, IA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Underwood Eagles (Underwood, IA), 32-29 in a league bout.

With the victory, AHSTW upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Vikings host St. Albert (Council Bluffs, IA) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 15-1. St. Albert won 65-56 in their recent non-league bout against Lincoln (Council Bluffs, IA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Tri-Center Trojans (Neola, IA) in a Western Iowa bout, on Monday, January 29. Underwood will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 10-7 record after their 28-25 league win over Missouri Valley (Missouri Valley, IA).
