Alcovy Tigers (Covington, GA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Lovejoy Wildcats (Lovejoy, GA), 73-65 in a league bout.

With the win, Alcovy upgrades its record to 13-7 on the season. The Tigers host Woodward Academy (College Park, GA) to confront the War Eagles in a AAAAAA Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The War Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 18-5. Woodward Academy won 80-26 in their recent league challenge against Morrow (Morrow, GA)

Next up, the Wildcats confront the Mundy's Mill Tigers (Jonesboro, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Lovejoy will attempt to improve on its 4-12 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 45-15 non-league win over Elite Scholars Academy (Jonesboro, GA).
