In Saturday's non-league outing, the Westminster Christian Academy Lions (Watkinsville, GA) basketball squad edged the host Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers (Augusta, GA), by a margin of 44-39.

The Lions (6-11) will now prepare for their outing against Gatewood (Eatonton, GA). The Gators go into the GIAA AA Region 2 outing with a 9-11 record. In their last outing, Gatewood was tipped by Brentwood (Sandersville, GA), 53-26, in a league outing.

The Cavaliers now own a 3-11 record. They play next when they host Briarwood Academy for a GIAA AA Region 4 outing on Tuesday, January 30. Augusta Prep Day will clash with a Buccaneers squad coming off a 68-39 league win over Edmund Burke Academy (Waynesboro, GA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 16-2.
