Rock Island Rocks (Rock Island, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Geneseo Maple Leafs (Geneseo, IL), 53-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Rock Island upgrades its record to 8-16 on the season. The Rocks travel to Peoria (Peoria, IL) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 17-3. Peoria lost 54-49 in their recent league bout against Normal Community (Normal, IL)

Next up, the Maple Leafs play the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers (LaSalle, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Geneseo will attempt to upgrade on its 6-15 season record. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a 10-13 record after their 45-40 non-league loss to St. Bede (Peru, IL).
