New Ulm Eagles (New Ulm, MN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Mankato West Scarlets (Mankato, MN), 69-59 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, New Ulm upgrades its record to 15-6 on the campaign. The Eagles host Worthington (Worthington, MN) to play the Trojans in a AAA Section 2 bout on Friday, February 2. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 3-12.

Next up, the Scarlets play the Faribault Falcons (Faribault, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Mankato West will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 3-14 record after their 81-39 non-league loss to Mayo (Rochester, MN).
