Maine High School Basketball - Thornton Academy succumbs to South Portland

The South Portland Red Riots topped the host Thornton Academy Trojans basketball team by a final score of 50-41 in Saturday's league game.
In their next game, the Red Riots face the Noble Knights (North Berwick, ME) in a AA South game, on Tuesday, January 30. South Portland will attempt to move on its 12-3 season record. The Knights enter the game with a 0-15 record after their 40-24 league loss to Massabesic (Waterboro, ME).
With the defeat, Thornton Academy moves to 7-6 on the year. The Trojans travel to Sanford (Sanford, ME) to face the Spartans in a AA South game on Tuesday, January 30. The Spartans enter the game with a record of 9-5.
