The Bishop McGuinness Villains (Kernersville, NC) basketball edged the visiting Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix (Winston-Salem, NC), 57-52 in Monday's league bout.

The Villains now possess a 14-2 record. They play next when they host Leadership Academy for a 1A Northwest Piedmont bout on Tuesday, January 28. Bishop McGuinness will play a Falcons team coming off a 57-45 league loss to Piedmont Classical (Browns Summit, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 13-4.

With the loss, Winston-Salem Prep falls to 9-7 on the campaign. The Phoenix travel to Bethany Community (Summerfield, NC) to play the Wolves in a 1A Northwest Piedmont bout on Tuesday, January 28. The Wolves go into the bout with a record of 4-18. Bethany Community lost 86-25 in their recent league bout against College Prep & Leadership Academy (Jamestown, NC)
