The Pender Patriots basketball team scored 53 points and limited the host East Columbus Gators to 27 in the Patriots league triumph on Monday.

The Patriots now have a 4-7 record. They play next when they host South Columbus for a 1A/2A Waccamaw game on Tuesday, January 28. Pender will confront a Stallions team coming off a 61-57 league loss to Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC). The Stallions record now stands at 9-5.

With the loss, East Columbus falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Gators travel to East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC) to confront the Eagles in a 1A/2A Waccamaw game on Tuesday, January 28. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 6-9. East Bladen lost 52-33 in their recent league game against Whiteville (Whiteville, NC)
