Maryland High School Basketball - Fort Hill nudges Southern

The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Fort Hill Sentinels (Cumberland, MD) and the visiting Southern Rams (Oakland, MD), observed Fort Hill's basketball team edge Southern by a score of 57-56.

The Sentinels (5-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Mountain Ridge (Frostburg, MD). The Miners come into the Appalachian challenge with a 5-6 record. In their last challenge, Mountain Ridge edged Clear Spring (Clear Spring, MD), 85-48, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Rams encounter the Tucker County Mountain Lions (Hambleton, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 29. Southern will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record. The Mountain Lions come into the challenge with a 12-1 record after their 67-42 non-league loss to Williamstown (Williamstown, WV).
