Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Somerset thwarts Chestnut Ridge

January 27, 2025: New Paris, PA 15554

The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Somerset Eagles (Somerset, PA) and the host Chestnut Ridge Lions (New Paris, PA), observed Somerset's basketball team knock off Chestnut Ridge by a score of 70-58.

The Eagles (6-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Penn Cambria (Cresson, PA). The Panthers come into the Laurel Highlands challenge with a 7-7 record. In their last challenge, Penn Cambria was knocked off by Greater Johnstown (Johnstown, PA), 53-47, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions encounter the Bishop McCort Crushers (Johnstown, PA) in a Laurel Highlands challenge, on Wednesday, January 29. Chestnut Ridge will attempt to improve on its 1-17 season record. The Crushers come into the challenge with a 13-2 record after their 58-41 league win over Central Cambria (Ebensburg, PA).
