In Monday's league contest, the host Mapleton Mounties basketball team scored a good 42-34 triumph over the Crestview Cougars.

The Mounties (14-4) will now prepare for their contest against St. Paul (Norwalk, OH). The Flyers go into the Firelands contest with a 2-16 record. In their last contest, St. Paul was topped by Edison (Milan, OH), 65-25, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the South Central Trojans (Greenwich, OH) in a Firelands contest, on Thursday, January 30. Crestview will attempt to better on its 8-8 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 1-17 record after their 66-21 non-league loss to Lucas (Lucas, OH).
