The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Wise Pumas (Upper Marlboro, MD) and the host Laurel Spartans (Laurel, MD), observed Wise's basketball team overcome Laurel by a score of 69-54.

The Pumas (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against High Point (Beltsville, MD). The Eagles come into the challenge with a 0-8 record. In their last challenge, High Point dropped by Suitland (Forestville, MD), 84-14, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Parkdale Panthers (Riverdale, MD) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Laurel will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record.
