The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Trinity Tigers (Trinity, TX) and the host New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX), observed Trinity's basketball team overcome New Waverly by a margin of 55-47.

The Tigers (14-10) will now prepare for their match against Crockett (Crockett, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 3A Region III District 23 match with a 15-11 record. In their last match, Crockett thwarted Coldspring-Oakhurst (Coldspring, TX), 70-53, in a league match.

The Bulldogs now own a 5-17 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Anderson-Shiro for a 3A Region III District 23 match on Friday, January 30. New Waverly will face a Fighting Owls squad coming off a 113-70 league loss to Onalaska (Onalaska, TX). The Fighting Owls record now stands at 9-16.
