In Friday's league outing, the Barbers Hill Eagles (Mt. Belvieu, TX) basketball squad edged the visiting Crosby Cougars (Crosby, TX), by a count of 56-52.
The Eagles (26-6) will now prepare for their outing against Port Neches-Groves (Port Neches, TX). The Indians go into the 5A Region III District 21 outing with a 3-15 record. In their last outing, Port Neches-Groves was tipped by Beaumont United (Beaumont, TX), 74-17, in a league outing.
The Cougars now hold a 22-9 record. They play next when they travel to Galena Park for a 5A Region III District 21 outing on Tuesday, February 1. Crosby will clash with a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 94-19 league loss to Port Arthur Memorial (Port Arthur, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 0-27.
