Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) and the host North Lamar Panthers (Paris, TX), saw Gilmer's basketball squad overcome North Lamar by a tally of 49-41.
With the victory, Gilmer improves its record to 21-5 on the campaign. The Buckeyes host Pittsburg (Pittsburg, TX) to confront the Pirates in a 4A Region II District 15 challenge on Tuesday, February 1. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 4-12. Pittsburg lost 64-55 in their recent league challenge against Paris (Paris, TX)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Pleasant Grove Hawks (Texarkana, TX) in a 4A Region II District 15 challenge, on Tuesday, February 1. North Lamar will attempt to improve on its 20-8 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 2-13 record after their 56-27 league loss to Liberty-Eylau (Texarkana, TX).
