Georgia High School Basketball - Jenkins County tops Edmund Burke Academy

Jenkins County War Eagles (Millen, GA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Edmund Burke Academy Spartans (Waynesboro, GA), 56-48 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Jenkins County upgrades its record to 17-4 on the campaign. The War Eagles travel to Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA) to play the Eagles in a A D2 Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 8-12. Montgomery County lost 75-47 in their recent league bout against McIntosh County Academy (Darien, GA)
Next up, the Spartans play the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers (Warrenton, GA) in a GIAA AA Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Edmund Burke Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-15 season record. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a 9-10 record after their 61-37 league loss to Augusta Prep Day (Augusta, GA).
