Grovetown Warriors (Grovetown, GA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Effingham County Rebels (Springfield, GA), 68-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Grovetown upgrades its record to 13-8 on the campaign. The Warriors host Lakeside (Evans, GA) to play the Panthers in a AAAAAA Region 2 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 15-8. Lakeside lost 64-59 in their recent league bout against Evans (Evans, GA)

Next up, the Rebels play the Brunswick Pirates (Brunswick, GA) in a AAAAAA Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Effingham County will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 18-3 record after their 47-42 non-league win over Camden County (Kingsland, GA).
