Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Mineral County Serpents (Hawthorne, NV) and the host Round Mountain Knights (Round Mountain, NV), saw Mineral County's basketball squad hold off Round Mountain by a count of 59-52.

With the victory, Mineral County upgrades its record to 17-3 on the campaign. The Serpents travel to Tonopah (Tonopah, NV) to play the Muckers in a 1A Central challenge on Friday, February 3. The Muckers come into the challenge with a record of 6-6.

Next up, the Knights play the Tonopah Muckers (Tonopah, NV) in a 1A Central challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Round Mountain will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Muckers come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 41-33 league loss to Pahranagat Valley (Alamo, NV).
