The Penquis Valley Patriots basketball team scored 56 points and restricted the visiting Stearns Minutemen to 30 in the Patriots league victory on Saturday.

The Patriots now sport a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Schenck for a non-league contest on Monday, January 30. Penquis Valley will battle a Wolverines team coming off a 76-61 non-league loss to Calais (Calais, ME). The Wolverines record now stands at 9-7.

The Minutemen (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against Mattanawcook (Lincoln, ME). The Lynx come into the C North contest with a 2-11 record. In their last contest, Mattanawcook was routed by George Stevens Academy (Blue Hill, ME), 62-43, in a league contest.
