The Round Valley Elks (Eagar, AZ) basketball nipped the host Pinon Eagles (Pinon, AZ), 45-43 in Saturday's league test.

The Elks (14-7) will now prepare for their test against Safford (Safford, AZ). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 11-11 record. In their last test, Safford was tipped by Palo Verde (Tucson, AZ), 70-59, in a league test.

The Eagles now own a 9-11 record. They play next when they travel to Greyhills Academy for a 2A North test on Monday, January 30. Pinon will encounter a Fightin' Knights squad coming off a 90-17 league loss to St. Johns (St. Johns, AZ). The Fightin' Knights record now stands at 0-18.
