William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA), 54-36 in a league bout.

With the win, William Byrd upgrades its record to 9-9 on the season. The Terriers travel to Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA) to clash with the Eagles in a Blue Ridge bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 10-9. Franklin County lost 48-46 in their recent league bout against Fleming (Roanoke, VA)

Next up, the Golden Eagles clash with the Northside Vikings (Roanoke, VA) in a Blue Ridge bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Staunton River will attempt to upgrade on its 2-16 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 18-0 record after their 83-55 league win over Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA).
