Illinois High School Basketball - Arcola nudges Marshall

In Saturday's non-league outing, the Arcola Purple Riders (Arcola, IL) basketball squad edged the visiting Marshall Lions (Marshall, IL), by a count of 45-41.

The Purple Riders (19-6) will now prepare for their outing against Argenta-Oreana (Argenta, IL). The Bombers go into the Lincoln Prairie outing with a 3-19 record. In their last outing, Argenta-Oreana was tipped by Decatur Lutheran (Decatur, IL), 38-27, in a league outing.

The Lions now hold a 14-13 record. They play next when they travel to Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 31. Marshall will clash with a Knights squad coming off a 54-30 league loss to Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] (Kansas, IL). The Knights record now stands at 16-9.
