Lena-Winslow Panthers (Lena, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL), 40-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lena-Winslow upgrades its record to 21-6 on the season. The Panthers travel to Orangeville (Orangeville, IL) to clash with the Broncos in a Northwest Upstate Illini - North bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Broncos go into the bout with a record of 22-4. Orangeville lost 50-32 in their recent non-league bout against Galena (Galena, IL)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Milledgeville Missiles (Milledgeville, IL) in a Northwest Upstate Illini - South bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Eastland will attempt to upgrade on its 18-8 season record. The Missiles go into the bout with a 1-15 record after their 58-30 league loss to Ashton-Franklin Center (Ashton, IL).
