The Abbeville Wildcats (Abbeville, LA) basketball edged the visiting Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA), 48-47 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Wildcats now possess a 21-15 record. They play next when they host St. Martinville for a 3A District 5 bout on Friday, January 31. Abbeville will play a Tigers team coming off a 76-39 league win over Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy (Youngsville, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 10-13.
With the loss, Lafayette falls to 16-13 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Southside (Youngsville, LA) to play the Sharks in a 5A District 3 bout on Friday, January 31. The Sharks go into the bout with a record of 17-13. Southside won 56-48 in their recent non-league bout against Northwest (Opelousas, LA)
