North Carolina High School Basketball - Oak Grove can't get by Asheboro

Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC), 48-46 in a league match.

With the victory, Asheboro advances its record to 11-6 on the year. The Blue Comets host Central Davidson (Lexington, NC) to meet the Spartans in a 3A Mid-Piedmont match on Friday, January 31. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 9-8. Central Davidson won 59-56 in their recent league match against Ledford (Thomasville, NC)

The Grizzlies now own a 11-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ledford for a 3A Mid-Piedmont match on Wednesday, January 29. Oak Grove will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 59-56 league loss to Central Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 14-2.
