The East Wilkes Cardinals basketball team scored 73 points and limited the host Elkin Buckin' Elks to 40 in the Cardinals league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cardinals now possess a 12-6 record. They play next when they travel to South Stokes for a 1A Northwest game on Friday, January 31. East Wilkes will confront a Sauras team coming off a 81-67 non-league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Sauras record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, Elkin falls to 9-10 on the campaign. The Buckin' elks host Watauga (Boone, NC) to confront the Pioneers in a non-league game on Wednesday, January 29. The Pioneers go into the game with a record of 11-6. Watauga won 76-52 in their recent league game against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC)
