Next, the Buckeyes encounter the Chapel Hill Bulldogs (Tyler, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 test, on Friday, January 31. Gilmer will attempt to improve on its 11-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the test with a 25-5 record after their 91-49 league win over Cumberland Academy (Tyler, TX).

The Lions (4-21) will now prepare for their test against Spring Hill (Longview, TX). The Panthers come into the 4A Region II District 16 test with a 10-20 record. In their last test, Spring Hill was routed by Pine Tree (Longview, TX), 53-18, in a league test.
