Mississippi High School Basketball - Hillcrest Christian bests River Oaks

The Hillcrest Christian Cougars (Jackson, MS) basketball toppled the visiting River Oaks Mustangs (Monroe, LA), 67-57 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 12-9 record. They play next when they host Prairie View Academy for a MAIS 3A District 4 bout on Thursday, January 30. Hillcrest Christian will play a Spartans team coming off a 58-30 non-league win over Louisiana Math Science & Arts (Natchitoches, LA). The Spartans record now stands at 12-12.

With the loss, River Oaks falls to 20-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Porter's Chapel Academy (Vicksburg, MS) to play the Eagles in a MAIS 3A District 4 bout on Thursday, January 30. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-6. Porter's Chapel Academy lost 79-50 in their recent league bout against Prairie View Academy (Bastrop, LA)
