Next, the Pirates encounter the Kilgore Bulldogs (Kilgore, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 test, on Friday, January 31. Pine Tree will attempt to improve on its 17-11 season record. The Bulldogs come into the test with a 8-12 record after their 83-40 league win over Cumberland Academy (Tyler, TX).

The Panthers (10-20) will now prepare for their test against Henderson (Henderson, TX). The Lions come into the 4A Region II District 16 test with a 4-21 record. In their last test, Henderson was routed by Gilmer (Gilmer, TX), 69-35, in a league test.
