The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC) and the visiting Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC), observed Southern Lee's basketball team overwhelm Scotland by a margin of 73-37.

The Cavaliers (16-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC). The Patriots come into the 3A/4A Sandhills challenge with a 12-5 record. In their last challenge, Pinecrest was trounced by Richmond (Rockingham, NC), 66-54, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Fighting Scots battle the Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge, on Friday, January 31. Scotland will attempt to better on its 3-12 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 12-6 record after their 71-59 non-league win over Fairmont (Fairmont, NC).
