Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Union Area sneaks past Shenango

January 28, 2025: New Castle, PA 16101

The Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) basketball edged the host Shenango Wildcats (New Castle, PA), 62-59 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Scotties now possess a 14-5 record. They play next when they host Rochester for a WPIAL 2A 4 bout on Friday, January 31. Union Area will play a Rams team coming off a 60-48 league loss to Laurel (New Castle, PA). The Rams record now stands at 4-12.

With the loss, Shenango falls to 8-10 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Coraopolis, PA) to play the Chargers in a WPIAL 2A 4 bout on Friday, January 31. The Chargers go into the bout with a record of 13-3.
