The University Hawks (Morgantown, WV) basketball edged the visiting Wheeling Park Patriots (Wheeling, WV), 49-43 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Hawks now possess a 11-2 record. They play next when they travel to Buckhannon-Upshur for a non-league bout on Friday, January 31. University will play a Buccaneers team coming off a 63-51 league win over Lewis County (Weston, WV). The Buccaneers record now stands at 8-5.

With the loss, Wheeling Park falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Steubenville (Steubenville, OH) to play the Big Red in a Ohio Valley AAAAA bout on Wednesday, January 29. The Big Red go into the bout with a record of 12-1. Steubenville won 82-71 in their recent non-league bout against Malvern (Malvern, OH)
