The Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) basketball were winner over the visiting Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA), 55-40 in Tuesday's league bout.

The Falcons now possess a 15-5 record. They play next when they host Fleming for a non-league bout on Saturday, February 1. Abingdon will play a Colonels team coming off a 76-22 league win over William Byrd (Vinton, VA). The Colonels record now stands at 14-2.

With the loss, Union falls to 4-11 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Central Wise (Norton, VA) to play the Warriors in a Mountain bout on Wednesday, January 29. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 16-2. Central Wise won 93-13 in their recent league bout against Lee (Jonesville, VA)
