In Tuesday's league contest, the host Appomattox County Raiders basketball team scored a close 61-58 win over the Gretna Hawks.

The Raiders (9-7) will now prepare for their contest against Buckingham (Buckingham, VA). The Knights come into the non-league contest with a 8-5 record. In their last contest, Buckingham was tipped by Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA), 49-28, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Hawks battle the Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA) in a Dogwood contest, on Friday, January 31. Gretna will attempt to better on its 10-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the contest with a 2-13 record after their 65-50 non-league win over Martinsville (Martinsville, VA).
