In Tuesday's league contest, the host Hermleigh Cardinals basketball team scored a good 52-41 triumph over the Ira Bulldogs.

The Cardinals (28-4) will now prepare for their contest against Highland (Roscoe, TX). The Hornets go into the 1A Region II District 14 contest with a 11-14 record. In their last contest, Highland was topped by Westbrook (Westbrook, TX), 52-18, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the XDOT Academy Bison (Merkel, TX) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 31. Ira will attempt to better on its 16-13 season record. The Bison go into the contest with a 1-4 record after their 81-55 non-league loss to Stephenville FAITH (Stephenville, TX).
