North Carolina High School Basketball - North Stanly overwhelmed by Union Academy

January 28, 2025: New London, NC 28127

In Tuesday's league test, the Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) basketball squad trounced the host North Stanly Comets (New London, NC), by a score of 60-27.

Next, the Cardinals clash with the Valor Preparatory Academy Owls (Concord, NC) in a non-league test, on Thursday, January 30. Union Academy will attempt to improve on its 15-0 season record. The Owls come into the test with a 1-11 record after their 85-19 league loss to Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC).

The Comets (8-9) will now prepare for their test against Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC). The Knights come into the 1A/2A Yadkin Valley test with a 2-11 record. In their last test, Gray Stone Day was routed by Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC), 55-20, in a league test.
