Taunton Tigers (Taunton, MA) backers were pleased Sunday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host New Bedford Whalers (New Bedford, MA), 62-60 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Taunton upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Tigers host Foxborough (Foxborough, MA) to play the Warriors in a Hockomock bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 8-5.

Next up, the Whalers play the Middleborough Sachems (Middleborough, MA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 1. New Bedford will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Sachems come into the bout with a 11-4 record after their 67-31 league win over Mashpee (Mashpee, MA).
