Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) and the visiting Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA), witnessed Gate City's basketball squad topple Abingdon by a margin of 63-54.

The Blue Devils (10-3) will now prepare for their test against Lee (Jonesville, VA). The Generals go into the Mountain test with a 2-12 record. In their last test, Lee went down by Central Wise (Norton, VA), 84-46, in a league test.

The Falcons now own a 9-10 record. They play next when they host John Battle for a Mountain test on Tuesday, January 30. Abingdon will encounter a Trojans squad coming off a 60-41 non-league loss to Virginia High (Bristol, VA). The Trojans record now stands at 4-12.
