Volunteer Falcons (Church Hill, TN) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Cherokee Chiefs (Rogersville, TN), 44-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Volunteer upgrades its record to 4-15 on the season. The Falcons host Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN) to clash with the Indians in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 8-9.

Next up, the Chiefs clash with the Greeneville Greene Devils (Greeneville, TN) in a 3A District 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Cherokee will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Greene Devils go into the bout with a 10-8 record after their 64-51 non-league loss to Science Hill (Johnson City, TN).
