Clinton Dark Horses (Clinton, NC) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting James Kenan Tigers (Warsaw, NC), 59-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Clinton upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Dark Horses travel to Fairmont (Fairmont, NC) to play the Golden Tornadoes in a 2A Southeastern bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Golden Tornadoes go into the bout with a record of 12-4. Fairmont lost 66-35 in their recent league bout against West Bladen (Bladenboro, NC)

Next up, the Tigers play the South Lenoir Blue Devils (Deep Run, NC) in a 2A East Central bout, on Friday, February 2. James Kenan will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 3-15 record after their 54-22 league loss to Wallace-Rose Hill (Teachey, NC).
