Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Rainier Columbians (Rainier, OR) and the visiting Corbett Cardinals (Corbett, OR), saw Rainier's basketball squad hold off Corbett by a count of 62-56.

With the victory, Rainier upgrades its record to 2-17 on the campaign. The Columbians host Banks (Banks, OR) to play the Braves in a 3A Coastal Range challenge on Wednesday, January 31. The Braves come into the challenge with a record of 8-12. Banks lost 45-40 in their recent league challenge against Neah-Kah-Nie (Rockaway Beach, OR)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Yamhill-Carlton Tigers (Yamhill, OR) in a 3A Coastal Range challenge, on Wednesday, January 31. Corbett will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 9-11 record after their 54-36 league loss to Warrenton (Warrenton, OR).
