Surrattsville Hornets (Clinton, MD) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Crossland Cavaliers (Temple Hills, MD), 59-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Surrattsville upgrades its record to 7-7 on the season. The Hornets travel to Central (Capitol Heights, MD) to clash with the Falcons in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 6-9. Central lost 57-51 in their recent league bout against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North (Laurel, MD)

Next up, the Cavaliers clash with the Largo Lions (Upper Marlboro, MD) in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Crossland will attempt to upgrade on its 0-13 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 12-2 record after their 78-50 league win over Friendly (Fort Washington, MD).
