Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Forest Bearcats (Forest, MS), 68-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Quitman upgrades its record to 18-6 on the season. The Panthers host Forest (Forest, MS) to clash with the Bearcats in a 4A Region 5 bout on Friday, February 2. The Bearcats go into the bout with a record of 9-14. Forest lost 68-44 in their recent league bout against Mendenhall (Mendenhall, MS)

Next up, the Bearcats clash with the Mendenhall Tigers (Mendenhall, MS) in a 4A Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Forest will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 17-6 record after their 56-47 league loss to Quitman (Quitman, MS).
