McGehee Owls (McGehee, AR) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Harmony Grove Hornets (Camden, AR), 75-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, McGehee upgrades its record to 18-3 on the campaign. The Owls host Smackover (Smackover, AR) to play the Buckaroos in a 3A Region 8 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Buckaroos come into the bout with a record of 7-12. Smackover lost 68-51 in their recent league bout against Drew Central (Monticello, AR)

Next up, the Hornets play the DeWitt Dragons (DeWitt, AR) in a 3A Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Harmony Grove will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Dragons come into the bout with a 6-13 record after their 52-43 league loss to McGehee (McGehee, AR).
