The Pompton Lakes Cardinals basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the visiting Hawthorne Christian Defenders to 39 in the Cardinals non-league win on Monday.

With the win, Pompton Lakes upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Rutherford (Rutherford, NJ) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 15-4. Rutherford lost 55-41 in their recent league bout against Lyndhurst (Lyndhurst, NJ)

Next up, the Defenders clash with the Elmwood Park Crusaders (Elmwood Park, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 31. Hawthorne Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Crusaders go into the bout with a 2-14 record after their 50-29 league loss to Lodi (Lodi, NJ).
