Illinois High School Basketball - Reed-Custer can't hold off Wilmington

The Wilmington Wildcats basketball team scored 48 points and restricted the host Reed-Custer Comets to 44 in the Wildcats league victory on Monday.

The Wildcats now sport a 12-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Coal City for a Illinois Central 8 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Wilmington will battle a Coalers team coming off a 51-40 non-league win over Iroquois West (Gilman, IL). The Coalers record now stands at 8-12.

The Comets (9-15) will now prepare for their contest against Herscher (Herscher, IL). The Tigers come into the Illinois Central 8 contest with a 3-18 record. In their last contest, Herscher was nudged by Flanagan-Cornell (Flanagan, IL), 55-30, in a non-league contest.
